Project Activity
The project plan for the proposed Millstreet Project has been divided into four key phases as follows:

Phase 4 - Prepare Planning Application
EirGrid submitted a planning application to An Bord Pleanala on the 24th November 2011. This full application may be inspected at www.eirgridmillstreet.ie
or at the following locations:
The offices of An Bord Pleanala, 64 Marlborough Street, Dublin 1.
The offices of Cork County Council, County Hall, Carrigrohane Road, Cork.
The offices of Kerry County Council, Aras An Chontae, Rathass, Tralee, Co. Kerry.
Anyone wishing to make a submission in relation to the proposed project can do so by contacting An Bord Pleanala, 64 Marlborough Street, Dublin 1.
Submissions can be made over a period of 9 weeks commencing on Tuesday 29th November 2011.
Phase 3 - Confirm Design
EirGrid has considered all feedback from phase 2, conducted all environmental studies and surveys and confirmed the detailed design. Consultation with landowners and lcoal residents continued during this phase.
Phase 2 - Evaluate Options
EirGrid has considered all public feedback from the Phase One report, in addition to its own ongoing project development.
We have used this feedback and all other information obtained to date, to evaluate the preferred site and connection options. This information is contained in the Phase Two Site and Corridor Evaluation Report, view Phase 2 Report .
We would like to invite you to submit views/comments regarding the proposals currently under consideration.

Phase 1 Information Gathering
EirGrid held public information days in the Castle Hotel, Macroom on 29th and 30th June 2010, and in the Wallis Arms Hotel, Millstreet on 15th September 2010. The public information days were aimed at identifying constraints in the project study area.
The lead consultant has identified a preferred substation location and preferred corridors for the 110 kV and 220 kV circuits.
